FAQ

DO YOUR MASKS PROVIDE PROTECTION FROM CORONAVIRUS?

Gowns and surgical masks are intended to provide broad barrier protection. Please see current guidelines from the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on recommended use of PPE during the COVID-19 outbreak. At this time, FDA has not cleared, approved, or authorised any gowns or surgical masks for specific protection or prevention against the virus that causes COVID-19.

DO YOUR PRODUCTS HAVE THE CORRECT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTS TO PROVE AUTHENTICITY?

Yes, these had to go through FDA approval/inspection upon arrival into the UK before being released to us and we also have all the documentation of the approval required to produce these from the factory, along with tests and other certifications we received from the factory.

HOW MANY TIMES CAN YOU USE A DUST MASK?

The NIOSH has established a guideline which says that respirator masks can be reused given that the person is exposed to dust levels less than 200 mg in the span of 8 hours.

HOW LONG CAN I USE EACH MASK FOR SAFELY?

There is no “expiration time” on these but as they are recommended for “single use” we recommend you use each mask for no longer than 8 hours of continuous use time.

WHAT DO DUST MASKS PROTECT YOU FROM?

A dust mask is a flexible pad held over the nose and mouth by elastic or rubber straps to protect against dusts encountered during construction or cleaning activities, such as dusts from drywall, brick, wood, fiberglass, silica (from ceramic or glass production), or sweeping.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A DUST MASK AND A RESPIRATOR?

Dust masks are not NIOSH* approved disposable filtering facepieces. They can be worn for comfort against non-toxic nuisance dusts during activities like mowing, gardening, sweeping and dusting. These masks are not respirators and do not offer protection against hazardous dusts, gases or vapor.

WHEN SHOULD EMPLOYEES GET A NEW RESPIRATOR?

When determining if employees need new respirators, remember the three D’s

Dirty, Damaged or Difficult to breathe through dispose of the mask and use a new one.
